For higher education to contribute to the development and inculcation of proper values for the survival of the individual and the society at large,

there is a need to adhere to the following;

1 A conducive environment is necessary for staff through improved service conditions, essential infrastructural development, and the availability of other channels that will aid teaching. Teachers are expected to be more knowledgeable than the student, and a teacher also needs to be trained. Seminars, public lectures, and regular training are required all year round for the educators.

2 There is the need for Government and owners of various institutions of learning to place high premium on education in terms of budget allocation for educational purposes, and grants put in place to aid research to help revitalize the higher education system.

3 Entrepreneurship or skill acquisition should be made a prerequisite that students must pick up a trade and undergo training before graduation. It will help promote and encourage self-employment which will curb the menace of unemployment to the nearest minimum.

4 There should be a reduction in course loads. Every student should be limited to only the subjects related to their field of studies.

5 The Government should set up grants for students after graduation to start up a trade.
